Free Wi-Fi Access now available at The British Library.

The British Library is pleased to announce that after a successful pilot of its wireless hotspot service it has decided to continue with the provision and will now move to a free of charge model. The take up of the Wi-Fi solution, provided by RegenerateIT, has exceeded the levels envisaged and the library has, therefore, decided that wireless should become part of its core offering to their clients.

RegenerateIT is completing upgrade to make all connections free of charge and that the service will continue to be provided without any interruptions.

British Library Takes on 2 More Site

The British Library is expanding its wireless hotspot service to further sites at Collingdale and Boston Spa. This will ensure that the British Library continues to lead in the provision of wireless internet access in the UK.

The hotspots currently running in the British Library at St. Pancras, are run by RegenerateIT and have been providing a much needed service to the users of the library. In view of the ease of use of the existing service the British Library placed the order with RegenerateIT knowing that it would be a reliable and easy to use service.

Bolton Libraries get Wireless Hotspots.

Another library service, Bolton in Lancashire, has chosen RegenerateIT to provide and install hotspots in to its libraries. The coverage provided by this system will ensure that all existing desktop machinery is readily available for existing users of the library service and the addition of the wireless technology is expected to attract new users in to Bolton’s libraries.

Ian Bysouth, who has a background working on projects helping the excluded in to self-employment, has joined to work on the sales and marketing of the RegenerateIT wireless hotspots and Jo Humphries has joined as project coordinator and liaison officer.

This expansion should ensure that RegenerateIT maintains its market leading position.

RegenerateIT Director joins team on European e-Inclusions Awards Body

Director Robin Knowles has been brought in on the board to setup and organise the 1st ever European e-Inclusion awards to be held in December 2008. Robin is focusing on developing the judging panel for these awards.

‘The UK is a leader in the e-inclusion field,’ said Robin ’and I would encourage all those providers to the not-for-profit sector to attend this conference’.

The 2008 European e-Inclusion Awards will celebrate the best and most imaginative uses of Information and Communications Technology to reduce digital and social exclusion.

RegenerateIT looks to expand its service

RegenerateIT is currently reviewing the possibility of linking its existing wiFi hotspot solution to the ‘Athens’ network. This adds the possibility of most UK based students having access to the Athens network even after they have finished at university.

Bob Hundal, technical director, believes that this will give added value to the service provided via the RegenerateIT wireless solution thus enhancing the service provided in libraries and public spaces.

 

West Lothian follows RegenerateIT path

After searching the market for the best solution, and after seeing the successful installations in Aberdeen, a decision was made to ask RegenerateIT to install the system.
